Nate is crucial to the team, especially for only a 3rd. He and edler are literally carrying the team. It's Hughes struggling defensively, he's not cleanly making passes or exiting the zone with ease. Also the lotto line heavily underperforming, the bottom 6 is actually doing well. It's like they flipped from last season rofl.



If Canucks didn't have Schmidt and somehow still had toffoli, they'd still get destroyed same way but probably even harder. Cuz it'll be either chatfiels/raffy/Rathbone eating schdmits minutes lol

Benning made the mistake to keep virtanen over toffoli. Although I don't think he had the cap to still sign him. It's shitty cuz of luongos penalty in a covid year, especially after the fact nhl approved it. The teams like preds that deliberately abused it for NHL to step in, I can guarantee when it's their time to be penalized, NHL will step in again to help them out cuz I bet they're not gonna let 20+mil cap penalty happen rofl. Not gonna lie your analysis makes sense especially after losing tanev To the flames and markstrom goaling out of his mind last year and makes it even funnier in a way that they kept virtanen who already looks like that hes going to be traded instead of keeping the guy that wanted To stay and was doing Well for the canucks. Still when your bad contracts are over i hope your team can get arround it and hopefully they lock benning Phone in a sealed safe 5 miles under the ocean when its free agent day.

Same, I hope they hire Gillis back or something. Someone needs to keep Benning on a leash during fa. Gillis plan would have Benning still be a gm and part of scouting crew which would be perfect. However I doubt aquaman would rehire him lol

This season is so weird for the Canucks, literally all the players that struggled last season are exceeding expectations, like Benn, bottom 6 etc. Then the players we expected shit from, they're uncharacteristically struggling, like beyond struggling. Completely different players. Actually boeser got his shot back and improved but Miller and Petey are heavily struggling. They used to control like 60%, rn its below 40. Last Habs game they only had 6.5% lmao, literally out shot 1 to 9 5v5. That's worse than beagle expected to outperform against mcdavid

The worst was cj flexing the 4th line on your 1st and that we were able to take control in the offensive zone more than 50% of the time this year in some of the previous games.

I mean you guys have it rough this year but at least its not on the sens level rough
