Now that I have had some time to gather my thoughts... wait nevermind, still not over the loss ugh :(
Hell of a season, but such a bittersweet way to go. Hats off to the Hawks.
Some questions that will need to be addressed during the off-season, do you guys think it's time to cut ties with Boudreau?
I really do like him as a coach, but idk if I can handle another heart breaking game 7 collapse lol. But really though, he just can't seem to rally the group together to get it done when it really matters in those game 6/7 opportunities.. Really thought this was the year for us!
It's not the coach's fault. Luck plays a big part in the playoffs, and the first half of this series was 2 bad bounces removed from not even needing a game 6 or 7. It's true the Hawks made better adjustments to their lines and strategies in game 7,making it look like the ducks didn't play with their heart, but even if you fired Boudreau, I don't see a better replacement available either, so I think he should stay.
Your depth and all 4 lines speed gave the Hawks genuine troubles in the beginning, and i hope your management won't apply the panic button and change everything just because of a game 7 from a series where you outplayed the other team in general.
As for not performing in game 7, I've had more the impression that the team couldn't adapt to the slight system and lines change by Quenevilke more than a problem of heart. When the plays that have been going your way all year long are getting you in trouble all of a sudden, you don't chase pucks or skate with the same assurance anymore, by fear of causing even more turnovers or getting caught off position, but to the outside it still looks like a lack of heart
