a good defense gives your offense the opportunity to play riskier hockey

subban excels at high risk high reward plays, if he has an anchor it will help with your offense a huge amount

Still need dynamic forwards even with a good D-core. Pacioretty is the only one they got that fits that category, and it's not enough.

I'm not one to follow this particular train of thought

PK is an excellent possession player because of his ability to create plays. More often than not his plays create something, therefore in its entirety he nets more out of his plays than he losses

Him becoming less dynamic would worsen his possession stats in my opinion

PK has already been toned down a lot. I wouldn't even mind him being more aggressive in his offensive creation if we can find him some strong support like BBmello was suggesting
