oilers have far too many voids to fill and no means to fill them via draft becasue they keep getting 1st overall forwards filling out their offensive depth
they could trade but really with mcdavid their top 6 seems perfect to take 1 out for a d man our goalie then thereo ffense isnt nearly as good and thats all they had goin for them

dont forget that oilers play in a lot tougher of a division than philly does. thats prob the biggest factor in making the playoffs.

Another factor to consider is that the Oilers are bad. Their badness is well known, but often ignored during the offseason when Edmonton begins their annual parade planning.
