That's the equivalent of three or four conference final exits ;)

No but hhof is for contribution to the sport. Devils have contributed a ton and elias has contributed to the devils. He will get a look.

should kovalev get in? alfredsson?

theres lots of players who have a similiar resume that would NEVER get in, but becuase he was on a strong team he gets in

had less impact on cup winning teams than butch goring and goring won't get in, goring even got a conn smythe

So call it a fucking sideways glance if you want. Rivals is the only one calling him a lock. I don't see why you're still on this so hard.

wat

i was just asking what makes him so superior to the other 0.8 ppg players? i don't question him in the HHOF even if i think he should be on by todays standards, he's no guarantee

just wondering what sets him aside from players like alfredsson etc

the fact we are discussing elias into the HHOF shows how watered down the HHOF got and how few great players there are today

the question is, should every 1st liner with longlivety make it to the hall?

bronze in olympics

I agree with dej here. Hall of fame should be for the super elite players only.

well difference between Elias and Alfredsson is Elias was less of a leader (only wore the C for one season by choice), but he is much more of a classy player (like Selanne) compared to Alfredsson. Both are (well up until a few weeks ago) career franchise players for their teams and will definitely get their respective numbers retired which is a great honor. I don't think either care too much about getting inducted into the HHoF because neither are from North America.

more money in the NHL. Like I said, HHoF is a much more popular thing in North America - mostly because that's where it's located

It's still the hockey hall of fame, not the nhl or "players from north america" hall of fame..
