They can try all they want. I don't think it will ever be gone completely and that is fine by me.

I do think the league is succeeding in removing unskilled plugs whose only role is to fight frequently.

That is a good thing. You don't want guys being obligated to frequently drop the gloves at the expense of their health while offering nothing skill wise.

The game is evolving. The gap between skating ability and overall skill between 1st liners and 3rd/4th liners is closing. The meathead goons are for the most part gone. That is fine.

I never want spontaneous fights to be gone though. Would you really want to see Iginla/Lecavallier fights removed from the game?
