18.5+16.5+14.4 = 49.4%
4th = 50.6%

either way, they "won" by getting the higher probability in 4th pick

don't know where you got those number but they're wrong

I could be wrong but has any team lost like this?

went 2 to 4 and 1 to 4 like Ottawa?

u mean in top 3 sense or like overall? if u're referring to overall from this new system, no the canucks got raped the most

this was pre-draft today, but ottawa would be -5, and canucks would be -7, suffering 4yrs in a row with the loss, while ottawa suffering 2yrs with the loss
lolnucks would consider it a lottery win if they can just hold what they're expected to hold at this rate

lol so somebody said this was leaked 26min before the draft began at 5pm pst  some swedish stream
obviously NHL knows the results before broadcasting it, but damn 26min leak is huge lol

so -5 in 2 years while it took 4 years for canucks to hit -7

yes, their extra 2 years was an expected result.
but canucks pretty much had ottawa's recent 2 yrs in their 1st 2 years of the new system, (-2,-3) except they werent even the worst team to have highest chance to get 1oa to drop -3.

forever bad luck :(

i guess it's now safe to assume not only the oilers traded a star in hall for larsson, but also their future 1st overall luck!

tankathon and https://hockeyviz.com/txt/lotto5
i think the one you're referring to about 43% chance isn't the odds for the worst team in league rank for % chance for each pick, it's the position of each team's chance to win #1 OA. (2nd worst team has 13.5% chance winning it, 3rd worst team 11.5% etc. So you don't use 31st team to add what 2nd and 3rd team odds are winning the lottery is as reference to their overall odds in the top 3 pick)
1 - 18.5
2 - 13.5
3 - 11.5
4 - 9.5

that's cuz ottawa don't have their pick and traded it away to colorado, it wouldnt make sense to put it beside ottawa as it doesnt relate to them pick wise

As a note, every teams best odds is to drop.

Detroit's highest % scenario played out in dropping 2 spots (~36%)

Still interesting to see who dropped the most I guess.
Of course it doesn't paint the full picture as a drop from 1-4 hurts more than a 5-9 or whatever.
