What he's saying is true. Reason the IRS doesn't just save the bureaucratic waste of having the foreigner file a claim to get the money back is because they're getting on enough people who can't be bothered making it worth their money to pay back others at a later date. Yeah probably. Though the series was obviously made to tell only one side of the story.. Apparently there were some evidences that were pointing to Avery that they didn't tell. I don't know if Avery did it or not, what I know is that they planted evidence and that he didn't get a fair trial at all.

As for Dassey it was pretty clear they were using him, the was not very smart and he had no idea what was going on. He was just repeating what the police officer were telling him to say.

No matter the extremely biased perspective Making a Murderer showed, Avery is pretty obviously guilty of the murder he is currently incarcerated for. He's such a scumbag even if he got rail roaded the first time.
