So. April of 2014. I went to Vegas. While playing keno I won 1600$.
And unlike Canada, where what you win is 100% not taxed. In the states, anything won that's over 1000$ you get a hand payout from the casino. And a IRS agent comes with the cashier and they tax ya right there in front of you.
On 1600$ I walked away with about 1100 American. Now because I am Canadian citizen, I'm entitled to the full winning amount etc. I just had to file US tax papers for 2014 etc and they mail you the rest.

Long story short, I FINALLY got my check in the mail from them. They tried putting it off, saying it needs to be investigated etc etc.

Moral of the story, any of you Canadians out there. If you are to win big there. Know your shit and file the papers and get your full winning amount!

I believe the US banks on the majority of the tourists being either, clueless. Or, not wanting to put in the effort to collect what they've rightfully won!

Gday, this 497$ American will turn into 637$ Canadian.

Treasure island.

Was in a group of 10~ people.

And 3 of us all won playing the same game. But at different casinos.

Easiest game to win on!

And yea, no lie. Has to be over 1000$ though before they auto tax ya.
