That trade would come close to making sense, but it feels like Semin is overvalued. It would make sense to offload Kessel's remaining 7x8m for an overvalued contract for 1-3 years and picks.

I don't believe it for a second but it does bring up a good point that Leafs can get more value out of Kessel if they absorb a bad yet shorter contract. If they commit to the rebuild like Buffalo they basically have to take big bad contracts to hit the floor, lol.

Leafs still looking at gm + coaching options. It's believed Tor contacted Guy Boucher. Boucher told TSN 1050 an NHL team had made contact.

Also told Leafs would like to speak with NYR asst gm Jeff Gorton about gm job in Tor, however, at the moment NYR aren't granting permission.

They denied permission to Boston so nothing likely to come until after playoffs if at all.

Dreger confirmed Leafs were the ones to talk to boucher.

Id be ok with the sharks moving the 9th and getting kessel to come play with pavs, we just need 1 more american for that line hahaha
