The Stars lost 3-2 in overtime. They were out-shot for the entire game 24-16 and it was a tough one to watch. Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin scored the two goals for the Dallas Stars to make it somewhat interesting but it wasn't enough. Seguin's goal with 52 seconds left in the game is what sent it to overtime.
Patrik Elias scored a 4-on-3 power play goal in overtime to win it for the Devils. That entire sequence was just too easy to be honest.

The Dallas Stars ended the month of January with a 4-10-1 record. It's difficult to watch this team play because they are better than that.
Ouch 16 shots lol.
This is obviously not going to be the Stars' year, but I would be pretty optimistic for the future if I was a Dallas fan. You guys have a good prospect pool and some great young players already with the big club. If they stay together, Benn - Seguin - Nichushkin will tear up the league for a decade.
Strong new management helps, as well. Underrated moves bringing in veterans like Horcoff and Gonchar to help the kids along, perhaps more off the ice than on.
Probably won't be a playoff team next year either but in a few years down the road, could have a strong team
