Urban myth, and the rumour is that his paternal grandfather is Jewish. But historians have found no evidence to suggest his, and for his grandmother being a peasant we actually know quite a bit about her. Hitler was rather concerned by the rumour (which started before he became Chancellor) and believed it enough to have people look into it. They couldn't find any proof. Their findings are more of less corroborated by modern research.
