I need a laptop for school in the fall.

Know nothing of laptops.

Willing to spend $600 but if I don't have to that's just as good.

You want it for school or will you be gaming and stuff too?

$600 can get you a laptop that will play the basics dota/CS:GO/TF2 and any indie game. If you wanna play BF4 you shouldn't be doing it on a laptop lol.

I guess depends on how well you want it running
In my experience spending a little over a grand on a gaming laptop it's not worth it

Better off to get a cheap ass laptop for business and invest in building a desktop

Buy a $2000 Mac like all the rich kiddies.

Or don't. I like that idea better. Just look for one with 4-5 hours battery life, isn't huge, and feels like something you wouldn't mind abusing. I never spend very much on my work laptops. You can probably find something for $400 or so.

Just school, have a desktop for gaming.
