Yea, the bed itself was $500 and I got an $800 mattress. I splurged a bit on both though, much more stylish than I need and probably more expensive a bed than I need. But I plan on using this for 10+ years and I have horrible luck with insomnia. Almost fell asleep in the bed at the mattress store lol.

I'd be cheap and buy a crappy mattress but I'm not the only one who uses my bed so that just doesn't fly anymore.

I forget how much I spent on mine, I think about $2200.

I could barely tell the difference between the 800 one I got and the 2500 one the guy tried to peddle me. But holy shit after properly trying and getting a bed with the right support I just about disowned my parents for ever suggesting that I get a Costco bed.

Also I got a slat platform that doesn't require the box spring so that took the cost down, I'm guessing you got both?

I have no idea, I didn't choose it haha. I just followed like a lost puppy and put in the debit card when I was told.to. That sound's familiar but honestly I have no clue. I just know I spent $2200 on a bed that is very comfortable.

That's what sales guy do, peddle you. When I bought my car last year all I wanted was a $25-30,000 or so Passat like my old one and I ended up spending significantly more after I was convinced another car was better. I try not to let furniture salesmen do that to me, but like I said I don't get a chance to get in that situation.

If you're a good salesmen, and can pick out clients who will pay the extra, you can make a lot of money for just smooth talking.

I almost felt bad for the guy at Macy's. He had me dead to rights spending more than I wanted to, my credit card info was in the system and then it turned out they couldn't deliver it until the Tuesday after I move in, at which point I wouldn't be able to be there for the delivery for weeks. So I had him void it and walked out.

our mattress is on a box spring, that's on the ground. that's it, no need for the frame, altho I am building her a head/foot board out of old reclaimed ranch lumber

My frame replaces the box spring and comes with a headboard, so it's pretty much a wash. Serves the same purpose and looks better doing it.

I'm angry the Prince of Cambridge name is George. Why couldn't they be original and pick a new name, like one that would be new. Something Anglo-Saxon or Scottish Gaelic. Malcolm would have been my choice.
