Guys. It all depends on what threat the bear is posing.
If it's posturing or if it feels threatened or of it is acting predatory. You have to discern between these in a matter of seconds and then do the proper procedure. You try posturing to a bear that feels threatened. And you are dead.

If you can tell a bear is posturing towards you. You have to stand your ground when it charges. And it will stop before it gets to you.

Shit ya not. No one knows exactly what to do. But I am certified in bear awareness thanks to suncor!

They had a bear eat 80% of a woman who stepped outside a pee can recently. Even with 4x electricians smacking the bear with metal pipes, it would not let go and dragged her into the woods and consumed her. They had to track this bear down and kill it.

In every case. Like SP says. Bear spray! But getting to the spray before you get mauled is the tricky part. Bears are quiet at times. das why we always told to be making lords noise at all times while out walking. So you never spook a bear.
