i think its more of a "we havnt given it much thought but under the recent circumstances its possible"
i think they keep berube unless a good coach hits FA and they can get him

hell maybe hextall just keeps berube to force vinny out and free up some capspace

-Berube is gone; just a matter of when. If he wasn't, Hextall would have affirmed that he would be back. -Big thing with me is that Hextall said that he didn't recommend player usages to Berube. That means what happened is on the HC. If Hextall is "pissed" about not being in the POs, its on Berube.
-Hextall indicated that he wouldn't talk about players and their exit conferences. But Berube did. Not good.
-Hexy really talked up Couturier. Good move after Berube whittled on him yesterday.
-Vinny will be an interesting situation. He won't be bought out. Sounds like its either RW for him, trade or press box unless he retires. You have to believe that the circus around him this season wasn't good for the locker room.
-Upgrades on defense, backup goalie and a sniper. We'll see how that plays out.

It appears the Toronto Maple Leafs have started their search for a new general manager.
According to TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger, Leafs president Brendan Shanahan was given permission from the Arizona Coyotes to speak with Sean Burke earlier this week and the two sides have had ongoing discussions.
Burke, 48, has been the Coyotes assistant general manager and goaltending coach for the past three seasons. Burke, a former NHL goaltender, played 820 career games with the New Jersey Devils, Hartford Whalers/Carolina Hurricanes, Vancouver Canucks, Philadelphia Flyers, Florida Panthers, Coyotes, Tampa Bay Lightning and Los Angeles Kings. He was also a member of Canada's 1988 and 1992 Winter Olympic hockey teams.
The Leafs fired general manager Dave Nonis and interim head coach Peter Horachek the day after the season ended.
