Awesome. Actually going out to play right now.

@ Drago, like golf, but with discs. Free, and typically involves beer.

Same rules as golf for the most part, but instead of a club and ball it's a small, heavy frisbee and instead of a hole it's a basket raised a few feet off the ground.

It's a lot of fun and gets super technical. The disc curves left or right naturally based on which direction it's spinning, and you have to put a lot of RPMs on it to make it fly truly straight. To be good you need to either be able to throw well both left and right handed, or learn how to throw both forehand and backhand. Then there are throws called the hammer and tomahawk where you hold it vertically and it either just slices straight and rolls or it flips over on its back. There are driver discs which are designed for distance but not precision, putter discs which are easy to control and won't fly far, and approach discs which are in between.

Used to play all the time in Michigan. Only got a hole in one once and can confirm it makes you feel like a baller and rightly so.

I've always wanted to try disc golf, I'm pretty skilled with a frisbee so I'd like to test myself.

There's a couple courses around here, not sure how much it costs though

ive never heard of a course you have to pay for, most of them are in city parks/public land. some places have a lock box for donations to make improvements/pay for equipment, at least thats how it works around here

i personally dont enjoy it very much, but im half way decent, only reason i ever go is to hang out with friends i dont see often and drink beer

id rather go regular golfing, im much better at that and i find it more enjoyable

It's sooooo much different from a normal frisbee. Give it a shot though, a basic set is like $20 and until you get good you don't notice much difference.

Plus no need to schedule or pay for tee times.

Google it, most are kinda set back in public parks. They're not standalone like golf courses. Plus some people will plan out makeshift courses where instead of catchers you need to ding it off a lamp post or something.
