why are they different teams? they RELOCATED, they moved, they didn't become a new team. i just proved why philly are the best expansion team since '67 and you're refusing to acknowledge it because you think pittsburghs 1 cup beats out EVERYTHING else

why? becasuse the flyers are a winning team they always draft mid pack except for a few odd years
if it wasnt for the nhl giving the pens crosby and still sucking the team wouldnt even exist why do you think they made him the face of the nhl? he saved the pens organization because of it
but to say they are historicly better? haha they wouldnt even exist if it wasnt for the nhl giving them a handout
i kinda like it tho pens flyers make a good rivalry now and put on some of the best games ive seen

There's almost nothing in common aside from maybe a few players? New management, coaches, players, fans, location.. I barely understand how you could even consider them the same.. I'm not hating against flyers nor saying the penguins are a better team, just pointing out your logic is highly flawed.

Just saying when you think about it the team changes every year. One team's history is essentially the story of hundreds of different teams as key players and management change in and out. You can chunk it into periods of time but even 5 years makes a huge difference.

Because of that churn there is no apples to apples comparison and there's no way to definitively say which team is better.
