I guess Canada isn't so standardized lol. Most government jobs that require a Master's will start in the $60s.

Also, if you have a PhD in a public service type degree (Political Science etc.) you'll have probably been in school for at least eight years anyway.

Socialist taxing etc etc. But yeah there's a reason why the US government has difficulty retaining people and attracting millenials. If I were to get a job at a consulting firm I could probably make about 40% more. Course, then I'd have to work 20 hours a week more as well.

If there's anything Canada does it's pay their civil servants very, verywell. A senior policy analyst (so like 5-10 years) in a government ministry is easily clearing $100,000. And you can get those jobs without a Master's, though not as easily as you used to.

Department heads in High Schools make about $110,000 a year.

Do you know how long that takes?

There's people that have been out of school for 3+ years and still can't land a full time job teaching.

Unless you're teaching up north there's hardly anything in BC.

Lmao of course I do. Department heads usually have a Master's degree on top of teachers college. And typically there's only so many department head positions available. But there are six figure teaching positions. My point was more they exist.

Ontario switched their teachers college to two years so we'll see a decline in the number of unemployed teachers. Other provinces if they do the same will see the labour market improve in probably a decade.

If you want to make money as a teacher in Canada, it's Alberta or nothing. BC you won't even get a job, and when you do, your AB counterpart will be making about 20-30k more than you.
