I forgot that there aren't drunks or illiterates working desk jobs.

You're a living example of a tradesman with poor grammar.

The tradesmen I know don't get paid over time, they work with retards. Lots of tradesmen are drunks etc that can barely form a proper sentence. Just the stories I hear not personal experience

I know a heavy equipment mechanic who make $40-50/hour and they definitely get overtime. Which equates to $75/hour. They often work 50-60 hour weeks (5 to 6 10 hour shifts) because there is such a labour shortage for specialized trades. So if he works 60 hours a week twice in a row, he'll take home ~$6800 in a two week pay period. I'm sure he wouldn't mind being called stupid.

Working for big companies isn't the same as working for local businesses.

Residential jobs, 1 man show with a bunch of labourers/apprentices is what I'm talking about.

These are the types of guys who probably pay some guys in cash under the table.

It's sad to watch here when a ton of hispanics are sitting in the Home Depot parking lot and a contractor drives up looking for warm bodies to help do whatever job. A lot of them get screwed over at the end of the day because they're promised like $10/hr and only get paid $5/hr.
