How are their products inferior? Don't make this about PlayStation versus Xbox that is ridiculously childish. Windows competes against MacOS and Linux, but it doesn't really as those target different markets and in the case of a lot of Linux types it's free so it's not really a competitor. Windows is the best all around OS on the market anyway, it's definitely not inferior. So what else is 'inferior' that they don't spend their money on improving?

Google is a free search engine that takes your information and sells it. How is that any different? Microsoft gave away Windows 10 to maintain their market share, and expose people to the new OS because usually people are very slow to adopt. They're literally not spying on you, they weren't with Xbox and they aren't with Windows. They are using your metadata to help shape what ads you see on the Internet. They don't care about anything about you.
