You hit the nail on the head there. No idea why I’m at work. Company sends out emails as if they arnt responsible for shutting down so we are forced to work until someone else shuts us down. It’s maddening.

One things for certain. This virus will change the North American culture of working while sick with the flu or a cold and pushing through. But with so many industries without sick leave it’s going to be an uphill battle

Hope that organizations around the continent finally start favoring working from home over showing up physically... we have such good technology, most jobs that don't require access to on-site hardware or physical interactions don't need offices to be permanently populated.

It is absolutely crazy.... I hope the culture changes as well. I don't want to go to work but I got bills to pay and I feel I need to comply so I don't get laid of or fired out of retribution for going against company policy somewhere down the line.

I have no trust in government having the ability to help me out if I make a stand and I don't want to lose my job in retribution so I comply. Commerce has way too much power over most of us..

Everyone wants to keep a job with a good pension/benefit package because it provides security. This crisis is showing all of us that is really just an illusion and it is really tripping me out. I just found out that there is (supposedly) a clause in our benefits that prevents the insurance company from paying out people when events like this happen,

despite having a legitimate illness. The deck just seems stacked.

I agree 100%. We still have at least half of our office staff in the building... They don't talk to customers or do any physical labor. Everything could be done from home yet they are forced to come in. It is so damn stupid.

For myself I need to be there physically. We don't have machines to load trucks, take product down from racking with a forklift or make adjustment to orders based on what we actually have.

Yes because they are calculating how long it takes to get that vaccine. So we don't know when but eventually a large portion of the world will get it.

yeah, it moves like the flu and that's how fast the flu moves without vaccines and lockdowns. The virus itself is a threat but the bigger threat is our health system being able to take care of that surge of sick patients. It's going to cause more deaths then the actual virus itself. Technically, the virus is not that bad and with enough medical equipment.....we could keep those numbers low. Now with this surge....it's going to be higher then 2% and it sucks. That's the deadly part.
We know 100% sure that the next big wave which will come this coming fall-winter will infect over 1 BILLION people. China started with a few in November. We'll start with 1000's this coming November if not 10,000s.
So now we're fucked.
Unless China sent out their entire army to help their entire population. I'm pretty sure their numbers are fake. They must have outbreaks all over from not MASS testing just like everyone else is about to go through.
What we see so far is people who are 20-40s with lung problems that they DO NOT KNOW ABOUT requiring medical machines of all sorts to help them breathe or help their breathing. That alone fucks things up cause now the entire world does not have enough devices. We don't even need the media to tell us this because this is just simple numbers and facts.
THE USA failed to test early and they are currently failing to test sick people. They refuse to test people with flu symptoms or other symptoms outside of the coronavirus. Which is stupid because all the specialists knows symptoms varies from person to person. THAT ALONE is going to fuck up the USA so much that you guys don't even know. WE can assume now that in a few months we'll be blaming someone or the government for such childish leadership.
I was sick as a dog for the past 2ish weeks and i was not tested. I was told that i would not be tested. So what did i catch? i have no idea. That's not ok. I was coughing up stuff for 2 weeks. lol
We have people with almost no symptoms testing though throughout the states. Why was I not tested along with 10,000's of people who were sick and went to the hospital?
This shit is messed up. We're were ready for this and we still are not ready for this. Our leaders are so behind. They STILL do not realize it.

Think about a fire or a shooting. 200 people end up getting hurt and they need to send and fly those people out to hospitals throughout the state.
Now imagine 300,000 sick people who requires hospital beds. With 50 million + sick in the USA?
That's wartime level numbers and wartime level money. I hate to break it to you guys but things will not get better until summer is here. Even then we'll have a 3-4 month break until it comes back and we'll have to lock down even longer. lol.

THE usa can NOT contain this. We can only slow this down. With the kind of people we have here and the government. We simply can not contain this.
So what we do know is most countries will have a 40% infection rate or higher.
In the world of numbers and viruses. Going from .1% to .5% is bad enough. Right now we went from .1% to 2% and higher. This virus will ignore every single defense we came up with the past 1000 years against viruses and attack us for 12-18 months withing ANY opposition. LMFAO and I don't think that many people are taking it seriously. They think it will only last a few months. This is going to last for over a year people.

If the world is suffering this much. I don't understand why we're not testing on human subjects from deathrow or something. It makes no sense to me. I bet China started testing on humans over a month ago lol
