Toronto expected Nylander to take a bridge contract or a huge paycut for a long term deal Nylander wanted.
Despite Dubas caving in, they both won from this stalemate, Toronto still ended up saving a lot of money and Nylander gets his long term contract averaging 6.9milAVV instead of in the lower 6s.
If Dubas didn't cave, they woulda both lost.
