This trade is only making us get an extra 2.5 mil on the cap this year to free up 2 million next year. Gonchar will be more useful than Moen will ever be.

I think Bergevin knows more about hockey and the thabs than you do there is a lot more behind this trade than just getting a 40 year old d man

5 - 1.85 is 3.15, not 2.5. youre 650 thousand off.

40 year old dman to help the powerplay when we have subban and markov already making 15 million who are supposed to be power play specialists. we now have 20 million in power play dmen? nice team.

in comes the flurry of hate without even stating one fact or contesting anything i say. GG, sit kids.

Dallas retained 8% of gonchars contract. So the cap hit for the Habs is only 4.6m minus whatever he's already been paid

Then go support another team because clearly you hate the Habs. Like I said there is more to it than getting a 40 year old d man but you can't see it. This move is actually helping our cap in the long term and clearing a roster spot. Learn to hockey, honestly, I have never seen one clever post from you and refrain from responding to them. This will be my last one too.

The Stars retain eight percent of Gonchar's salary in the trade

you sure? this post says salary, not cap hit. and pretty sure cap hit wont lessen because of games already played.

His cap and salary are the exact same. Capgeek shows his cap hit at 4.6
