Jagr is on his "Around the NHL in 3 seasons" tour. He figured he might as well join the Devils now, so he can be traded to a contender at mid-season.

Jaromir Jagr's deal with the #NJDevils will pay him a $2M base salary this season, with a games played bonus of up to $2M more.
Jaromir Jagr gets a $250,000 bonus for every five games played from 10 to 45. That makes up $2M in bonuses from #NJDevils.
