Sounds like the input cable. That would happen to me when I needed to replace mine or if it didn't quite seat correctly. Check the connections, and if you have a 3mm male-to-male cord you may need to order a new one. If it's directly connected to the speakers, try fiddling with the connection a bit.

I don't know what an input cable or 3mm male-to-male cable is :(

These are my shitty $50 speakers

I've tried fiddling around with all the wires, unplugging/replugging... all the noob stuff lol

I'm guessing most people are just gonna tell me to buy new speakers but I don't wanna :(

So you may have a cable going from the back of your subwoofer to the PC, at least if your shitty speakers are like my shitty speakers. Try fiddling with that.. I that doesn't work, try replacing it (www.monoprice.com is where I usually go). That's the 3mm male to male cable.

/e it's like a certain range of sounds are muffled, right? That's the problem I'm thinking of and usually it's an audio jack problem.

Yeah, I guess that's a good way of explaining it. Annoying thing is that sometimes the sound works fine lol. It's rare though, and usually just after I start my CPU.

Wire from my sub-woofer goes to the dock thing that has the volume dial. Wire from that goes into my computer (lime green).

I would bet my lunch money the problem is one of those two connections. You can replace both cables at monoprice for $1.50 + shipping

Any chance it's the wires that go from the volume control dock thing to the 2 speakers?

Either way I guess I'm willing to try if it's gonna cost under $10 including shipping.

Doubtful if its happening for both speakers at once, unless they both went bad at the same time in a massive coincidence.

How many speakers do you have? 2 or 3? I know I have pretty much the same setup but it's 2 speakers instead of 3. Is it both/all three speakers that cut out or is it only one/two of them
