It is such a shame....
Mcdavid on pace for 100 points playing with plugs (no offense)
The only other Oiler doing something on offense within a top 6 capacity is Draisatl and he centers the second line.
I wish by some miracle Edmonton could grab 2 top 6 players who can keep up.
In all honesty I really think they have a decent mix on the team to round out the bottom 6 in the right situation but those top 6 wingers are missing.
Clearly Lucic can not keep up with Mcdavid. No clue why they signed him in the first place when it was blatantly obvious he is not that type of player.
I do not mind Lucic and the way he plays the game. He has something to offer. He is just not going to succeed in that position.
Edmonton needs to try to shed some cap somehow and grab a budget winger with speed and offensive instinct. That is all you need to play with Mcdavid because he is that good. If you can get yourself in the right places and drive hard with speed you will do well with him even if your average in terms of shooting/puck skills
Mcdavid draws so much attention to himself. They need someone to keep up and be in the right spot. Mcdavid can do the rest. The Oilers have not given him that in my opinion and he is still better than PPG. Give him someone that has chemistry with him and I have no question he can put up 110+ on a consistent basis.
Draisatl has proven he can get the job done by himself on the second line. Imagine how good he would be if he had a better supporting cast as well.
The Oilers are not as far out of being back into the playoffs as it seems in my opinion.
wouldn't it be nice if he had another game-breaking forward to play with like Taylor Hall, or if he had at least a highly skilled winger like Jordan Eberle
