True! Still, looking good. All those guys for next year will be cheap. Gio will get 6.5-7 I would think. Karlsson money, not Subban I hope. Treliving was talking yesterday about how he's blocked out the next 5 years for cap space. Wasn't too long ago Flames were right at the cap every year and still missing the playoffs. Damn you Daryl Sutter.

I think Gio will look for more than 7... but that being said I think he's worth it. I'm comfortable with the guy making up to 8, over 5 years lets say. More than that I'm not so sure. I think he will have a strong career that lasts longer because of how late he entered the NHL. Obviously the cheaper the better, but I think he will want decent term and right around that 8 Mil range.

Wouldn't it be gnarly if he signed for like 6? B)

Definitely a steep price. I don't think gio will ask for that much. I don't wanna have an 8+guy but I don't wanna lose gio.

It's just gotta be 6.5-7. Pay him whatever, but I'm sure it'll be in there.

In Trevleving we trust! Would you be open to flames trading up or down in first? Flames first round for Jordan Eberle b)

6.5-7 is fair

There's big contracts to sign after next season and this team is in need of depth, It's easy to shut down our only scoring line because they're our only true threat. The other lines had to be used more defensively.

The defense was fun to watch but you won't likely make it through 4 rounds with the likes of Wideman eating 30 minutes a game.

Plus the Flames need a legit goaltender, we can all hope Ramo is going to fill that role but if he can't they need to go shopping.

There's still work to be done in this rebuilding phase and any fans thinking we win a cup with what we have is delusional.

That's an expensive 2 liner.

There's some great bottom six talent coming up as UFA this summer that will likely not get much for raises, capitalize and take Paille or Campbell from the Bruins, try to ditch our 3.75m 4th line C in Stajan.

We can ride our Ramo hiller for a season or two, then ortio could be ready. And if not, gillies will be an NHL stud in a few seasons. I really hope we don't get too ansty and start trading for players to make a push. Take it a season at a time. Lock up the young core, get some solid depth.

I wanna keep stajan. His contract is up soon isn't it? Resign for half price.
