- Keep Sedins... won't be able to find anybody who can come close to their production, and they were fine in this series
- Keep Burrows... even if it's not to play with the twins, his 2M cap hit would be great even in a third line role.
- Keep Hansen - Pahlsson - Higgins third line together if Pahlsson is willing to re-sign at 2M.
- Keep Booth... probably can't even trade his contract and he might be better with a playmaking center
- Keep Hamhuis, Edler, Salo, Tanev, Ballard (probably can't trade his contract anyways either)
- Keep Schneider
- Keep Lapierre if he's okay with that 4th line role
- Keep Manny... doubt anyone is going to take his contract
- Keep Kassian of course, but he probably needs to be in the AHL

- Trade Luongo and bring up Lack or sign a capable back-up... Schneider is just too good to give up now. Take anything back, just get rid of his contract/cap hit
- Only trade Kesler if you can find a 2-way / 50+ point guy in return, otherwise it's a step backwards
- Please, I've had enough of Raymond
- Pawn off Bieksa to Burke in Toronto... he'd love his truculence

Daniel - Henrik - Burrows
Booth - Kesler - _____
Higgins - Pahlsson - Hansen
Malhotra - Lapierre - _____

_____ - Hamhuis
Edler - Salo
Ballard - Tanev

Schneider
_____

The 1 missing defenseman and the 2nd line winger will have to be impact players. Get someone actually effective on the 4th line wing, not a plug like Weise.

Breakdown of goals for and against from the Canucks point of view from the entire series - who made good plays and who's to blame for the goals against:

*Note: Yes, there are many good offensive plays that didn't result in goals and lots of mistakes that didn't result in goals against, but just looking at the goals here (also disregarding goals that are solely the goalie's fault)

*Highlights: http://video.canucks.nhl.com/videocenter/ ......... Click "Game Highlights" under channel for the individual plays

Game 1:
- GF: Burrows scores... +1 Henrik, +1 Burrows
- GA: Mitchell scores... -1 Edler

-1 Higgins
-1 Malhotra

Game 5:
- GF: Henrik scores... +1 Henrik, +1 Daniel, +1 Hamhuis
- GA: Richardson scores... -1 Henrik, -1 Booth, -1 Edler
- GA: Stoll scores... -1 Hamhuis

Running (final) Total:
+4 Henrik
+2 Daniel
+1 Salo
+1 Hansen
+1 Pahlsson
+1 Kassian
+1 Kesler

-3 Edler
-1 Bieksa
-1 Higgins
-1 Malhotra
-1 Booth

In my opinion kind of tells the story:
- Sedins were our best players
- Hansen and Pahlsson were next when it comes to forward effectiveness
- Salo, Ballard and Tanev were steady
- Edler was not great, Bieksa was not good as usual and Hamhuis had good and bad moments
- Higgins had a bad series and Lapierre wasn't spectacular
- Booth was awful
- Kesler ended up in the "+" column because he was fine defensively but didn't add much offensively, especially not during 5-on-5 with his regular second line

Your breakdown is nice, but it doesn't reflect everything.

How do you have "Booth was awful" at -1 and "Edler was not great" at -3?

Edler was terrible.

You can't just do it from goals scored.
What about the shit plays Edler made that lead to Kings scoring chances? Odd man rushes? His delay of game penalty(maybe more than one?)?

Burrows Kesler Lappy was our best line in the last game for the most part. Sure they didn't score but they did a hell of a job on the forecheck and kept the Kings hemmed in.

There's more to the game than who gets the goals.

You didn't even read the second line of the post -_-. Already mentioned that only looking at goals

Yeah, Edler was awful (the low @ -3 tells you that), but I'm not going to really blame him as much as I blame the forwards. The goaltending was great and the save for a couple terrible turnovers by Edler and Hamhuis, the defense held up quite nicely. All of our top forwards except for the Twins did nothing.

People pile on him because he made a couple mistakes, yet nobody ever notices the other 20 minutes he plays when he's playing decently or good. It's easy to look at mistakes and say he sucks. Same goes for Hamhuis.

The difference is when a D-man makes a mistake it leads to goals... when forwards make mistakes it leads to turnovers or squandered chances but nobody really looks back on those as much... they're just as important, though.

Just heard on TSN that Kesler will possibly be undergoing surgery on his shoulder in the off season?

Not to sound like a jackass, which I will, but I hope we don't have another year of the "he didn't get to train" excuse. -_-

Anyone know why some of our guys weren't sent down to help the Wolves in the playoffs? Or is there a rule against that. :P

ie: Kassian / Tanev / etc.
