I know a lot of Canucks fans are unhappy with this pick but it wasn't totally off the board. It's possible Edmonton was going to take him at #4 if Puljujarvi didn't fall and he was probably around #6 in general.

We desperately need top-3 potential D-man prospects and Juolevi is a very safe, low bust-chance pick.

His strengths are his IQ, passing and skating and that's exactly the kind of D-man that's valued in today's NHL.

He doesn't have the natural offensive abilities to be a PPQB but you don't necessarily have to be a 50 point guy to be a #1 D-man. Think Lindholm, ceiling wise.

This was a GOOD pick...our D prospect pool is WEAK at the moment we needed this guy....BEST d man in the draft and we got him.... coming from a win/pressure london atmosphere

I like the pick as well, nucks took the best available D. What worries me is what benning said earlier about the 3 defensemen in this draft. I'll be happy if he turns out to be top 4 eating 25mins. And quarter back our pp!

Also easier to get wingers through FA. I mean look at the FA this year lol
