Karlsson's price was probably way too high, and probably even higher for a rival.

Trading 2nds and 3rds for 6/7 dmen isn't something the Leafs will do.
I agree. Until the leafs get an impact D that can play the right side, they won't be a serious contender. Had they overpayed for Mike Green at the deadline I would have at least saw a point in that.
Trading away 2nds for 4th line rentals is a complete waste and doesn't address what the leafs actually need to take the next step, is my point. I would rather see them hold onto these picks.
