Ferland suffered torn oblique in game 4 of the first round.

Damn. I'm sure we'll be hearing shortly about Monahan too. He was 'sick' going into the playoffs, and didn't look quite like himself the whole time.

Wouldn't be surprised if hudler was hurt too. He was way off in the Anaheim series. And not just playing bad but he looked slower than normal.

Was just listening to 960 and Treliving was on... injuries that he discussed (I listed them in kind of 'order of severity' in terms of how badly they were hurt):

Bouma - Had a shattered finger, had a plate and screws inserted
Brodie - sprained ankle
Jooris - sprained wrist
Hudler - Neck/Back soreness
Monahan - Back/Groin soreness

He wasnt sure if any players would require surgery (except for Bouma who already did I guess). He said that most of the guys were banged up because of the time of year etc.

Jones on Ferland: "He told me before the playoffs started, he's like 'I'm going to be running around there and hitting everything that moves'. I'm like alright buddy, I'm excited to watch it."

Flames with 1.8m to spend to hit the cap floor.

15th overall pick, 3 second round pics, 2 thirds.

Great spot to be in. B)

Yep, the cap space is nice but still needs to be managed...

Bouma / Backlund / Jooris / Ferland / Byron are all RFA's this year and need new contracts

Then Gio / Gaudreau / Monahan / Hudler / Russel next year

True! Still, looking good. All those guys for next year will be cheap. Gio will get 6.5-7 I would think. Karlsson money, not Subban I hope. Treliving was talking yesterday about how he's blocked out the next 5 years for cap space. Wasn't too long ago Flames were right at the cap every year and still missing the playoffs. Damn you Daryl Sutter.

Great article on Hartley helping Ferland sober up this past year.
