It appears that Lecavalier has made his decision, or will make his decision in the next 24 hours, and Dallas is the far and away leader as to which team it will be.

He ruled out Dallas.

Dreger said last night that Lecavalier was leaning Dallas or San Jose. Why would something change so fast. Where else is he going to sign? Philadelphia doesn't have cap space, he'd have to change positions to sign in Boston, and Toronto/Montreal are high pressure markets.

All the information leading up to Aaron Ward's original tweet was he doesn't want to sign in a market where he won't be anonymous, and he wants term, so 5-6+ years. Unless his Quebec wife demanded he play in the Northeast, why were the people reporting those things now saying the opposite basically.

Nichuskin was such a great pick, but obvious. Now they pick a garbage, no skill mud skater in Ellie.

He's garbage. Waste of a pick. Worse than the Wings picking Tyler Bertuzzi 58th.

He said he was going to cut down his list today and possibly sign tomorrow. Just sounds like Dallas was cut from the list

Sources saying Dallas Stars no longer believe they are in contention for Lecavalier. #TSN

Darren Dreger ‏@DarrenDreger 19m
Further to @aaronward_nhl report on Lecavalier, I have also been told by a Stars source, Lecavalier has eliminated Dallas from contention.

I saw those. And while Ward hasn't talked about it, Dreger was on TSN last night and he said Lecavalier was leaning San Jose/Dallas and that he would NOT sign in a market like Boston, Montreal or Toronto. So where does that leave him? Philadelphia? Not room. Detroit? Dreger is saying the same thing about Detroit that he said about Dallas.

I'll believe it when I see it. This is a complete 180 from all the previous information given.

while not getting into the cap situation again, all I'll say is that Philly has the room to sign him if they want to. Whether he does or not, I can't say. From what I read he wants to stay in the east. Detroit are also out of the race from what I read

His wife wants to move back to Montreal but Lecavalier does not want to play there. That's where the play in the east is coming from.

I see the teams likely in the lead being Philly, Islanders, and even Boston.

Montreal now apparently out of the race
