I heard. He really owned up to his decision, he admits it was a selfish decision, he said winning the cup is his dream and thinks Detroit is closer to winning.
He said that the Senators are a good young team and are getting closer to a cup (going in the right direction), but are a couple of years away and that he doesn't have the time to wait. He was talking about how he had not thought about leaving until recently, and that he understands there may be resentment and anger from fans, and he said fans should feel that way and he understand if we do. It wasn't really about the money anymore, winning the cup is his main priority
