6.5 for bergy is a steal imo. maybe not so much in the last few years but im sure thats why he couldnt ask for more. fair deal id say. but this makes boston a lot better in the now, more so than in 6-8 years. only taking into account this contract.

all players I would consider loyal. Each gave their teams their best years and then some.Staying just for the sake of staying is idiotic, if the team doesnt have a good place for you or doesn't have a competitive chance and you're on your last year, the logical and most value added choice is to go.

49 times out of 50 that player will still retire with the original team
