Basically what he said was Dallas offered Vancouver what they gave up for Russell. Vancouver accepted. Dallas backed off cuz they wanted Russell more so they made that trade.

Afterwards they went back for Hamhuis offering a lot less and ownership said no, they were offering more before so get moee

Other reports are saying Vancouver said no to start with and then Dallas settled for Russell.

Then there's the meddlesome ownership angle that throws a wrench into everything.

Such a gong-show all around.

You guys think it's time for the Canucks to part ways with the Sedins?

Not yet. Nobody can take the term on their contracts and they are perfect for showing the prospects how to do things. They're keeping us from becoming the Oilers.

However in 2 years when they are UFAs they should be traded at the deadline with 50% retention on both. Take back cap dumps and a shitload of assets in return.

Best players to play for the nucks, good role models, does so much for community etc. Etc.
