'Cause he's a good, young player that fits their rebuild and is under contract for a while :P

Cause he's got a broken foot, broken hand, and about to have surgery on his shoulder.

Would be crazy to trade for that player right now.

Crazier to overpay.

So he's a great player who's injured and won't be playing or making an impact in a while. Doesn't that make him a perfect player for a tanking team that wants to rebuild starting next year?

Sure, but you've got to admit trading for an injured player who won't play hockey for another 5 months probably, and is about to be cut open for surgery is pretty risky. There's a reason injured players are almost never traded, for example his broken hand and foot was only made known after the trade. Maybe his shoulder is more serious than the Sabres knew? Just sayin.

He already had surgery and the doctors deemed it successful. He is on track for a normal 4-6 month recovery.

If it's more serious the trade is cancelled because winnipeg didn't negotiate in good faith. Like I said, Tim Murray is no amateur. Unless the doctors botch the surgery I'm sure he's considered that.

Lack's name has also been thrown around.

I know he has value with Miller being signed for 3 years. But that's flyers level fuckery with goaltending if it's true. I'm sure Demko would be happy in the short term but christ if I wouldn't eventually be hearing footsteps at my door if I were a canucks goalie prospect right now.

It's a frustrating situation but what do you do? lol

Everyone(fans & teammates) LOVES Lack but I think he gets a bigger return than Markstrom and you can't move Miller.
