Less money on hand, time, control of my income and freedom basically. On top of that I had to pay income tax on 80-100k as an employee, if I make 80-100k with my investment and business holdings I can reduce that tax amount drastically which in turn allows me to keep much more of what I make. However a good portion of my returns are reinvested and don't touch my personal accounts. I won't pay myself that money for a long time.

Include also the debt and lifestyle that typically comes with making 100k and you find out quickly you spend as much as you make.

That being said, someone smart making 100k lyfe would do better than I did, however most don't.

It really actually doesn't matter how much you make per year at your job

I had a job making 80k-100k lyfe and had less than I do now at my 60k job, I also have far less stress and way more time to pursue other interests

My plan is to retire from the workforce within the next 5 to 7 years and become completely self-sustaining, I really don't think having a job and having to earn your way gives you any freedom.
Its sad that we're all programmed to work for someone else and make someone else all the money

I'll be doing this shortly... Work for myself 7 months a year already, but might as well go full time now. Lifestyle is much better... can't stand 9-5 office life anymore.
