Shouldn't be a surprise but Friedman says Owners are to blame for Canucks fiasco.

They want playoff revenue while Benning wants a firesale.

Burrows willing to move if asked.

It's really depressing being a Canucks fan right now. I can take the losses, I can take the tank, I can take the shitty team, but when you know your coach is terrible, your GM is terrible and your owner is a meddlesome idiot, it's tough to have faith.

I do not want this to be true but I think it is. It has always been like that since he was the owner.

After our 2011 cup run whoever was truly calling the shots refused to back down and kept trying to get back to that same level. The result is you get a bunch of long term, NTC deals and you just back yourself into a corner. Scouting and player development was not where it needed to be.... At least now we are better in that department.

However now if ownership is handcuffing management I do not see what we can do. Anyone who lives here knows we have a large majority bandwagon fan base. Nobody gave a shit about the Canucks when we were god awful in the late 90's/early 2000's.

Now we are in a transition period and there is no way the owners will make as much money then they did when we were an elite team. They want money, management wants to rebuild and turn the team around with a rebuild.... Yet it seems they are handcuffed. We are not a playoff team. Lets be honest.

The best outcome is we make the playoffs and get stomped in the first round. Could that be what ownership wants? Good revenue from a playoff series + the media can hype that the team will be "an improved team from last year and will contend". It is all lies of course but this is what ownership wants to sell to the public.

Really pisses me off. This team needs to trade assets and get younger. It really is that simple. I just do not know if it will happen....

Benning shd resign,
All other gm shd blacklist the nucks, with the reason they don't want owners to handcuff em to do their job right
Remind the idiot owner who makes them dorradorra

I am sure this kind of thing is not exclusive to Vancouver though. At least at some points in time.

Toronto for example would trade picks/younger players/prospects in a desperate attempt to make the playoffs with rental players.

Benning seems fairly solid; but I think he and Linden are not is as much control as they would like you to believe.

Would not be surprised if it is a disaster behind the scenes.
