Have Lashoff - Smith really been a "solid second pair?"

Just based on highlights Lashoff seems kinda terrible... but that's just highlights.

How would you rank your D-men?

Even taking my homer glasses off, lashoff has a shot at honorary mention for calder. He won't win it, but he's been so good this year considering he came in as a rookie. Smith has shades of lidstrom offensively but is very far inferior defensively. Between the two I would say they're a good 2nd pair, especially once developed.

I would rank our defensemen:

1. Kronwall
2. Lashoff
3. Ericsson
4. Smith
5. Quincey*
6. Kindl

*based on recent performance, I would be ecstatic for weeks if we traded this fucker.
White and colaiacovo are somewhere in there but I've just kinda forgotten about them since they're injured for so long. White is probably above ericsson, and colaiacovo I have no clue.

College defenseman DeKeyser signs with Red Wings

The Red Wings signed free agent goaltender Jared Coreau of Northern Michigan University to a three-year entry level contract..
The 6-foot-5, 200-pound Coreau, 21, started all 38 games for NMU (CCHA) this year and finished 15-19-4, with a 2.70 goals-against average and .919 save percentage.

Anyone know anything about this dude?

Pretty sure he's being signed to replace Pearce on GR. Hopefully they're priming Mrazek to come up to the NHL.

A friend of my brother's actually got signed to the Red Wings within the past few years. He got charged with sexual assault or some kind of sexual crime, so he's not there yet but will be there soon. Kind of interesting. Went from seeing him in my house, to seeing him on the Red Wings! His name's Max Nicastro.

Pulkkinen should be in Grand Rapids in a few days.
