First year playoff success? 5 wins? Really?

19 years dude

Leafs 5 wins

Oilers 6 wins

KRAKEN 7 wins

You have two organizations that have had decades to build a system of success but continue to blow their whole market cap on 3-4 Offensive juggernauts and then have terrible goaltending and defense / wonder why they can't do fuckin shit in the playoffs....

Then you have the Kraken an expansion team that has had far less time to develop team chemistry and yet they eliminate the Avs and almost the Stars in their 2nd year as a team...

What's the better story.....Two expansion teams going deeper into the playoffs then all 5 Canadian teams combined? or the Leafs/Oilers/Jets being unable to replicate how they play during the season because they forget what it takes to win in the playoffs?

Also what about McDavid/Draisaitl? So much for the record breaking season!(Ask the Bruins how that panned out)

What about Auston Matthews/Marner/Nylander/Tavares etc.($50 million for 5 wins?)

Making out of the 1st round is success for this experiment. As I said it's been so fkn hard to watch it and we already knew this team wasn't it.

Making it past the first round is a success... for an up and coming team fresh off a rebuild. Not a team who has made the playoffs 7? years in a row and was expected to be a major cup contender lmao

Every year this experiment has been hindered in some way through injuries. This year was close to a healthy run and some positives came away from it. J.T.'s series closer was huge. Of course the core's production is another stain... let's see what moves get made

Dubas the clown wanted 6 to 7m per year for 5 yrs with total control lmfao. Shannahan said fuck that. Their offer was 4m/yr with private jet to ease travelling but Kyle didn't budge so he walked. The dude thinks he won several cups

Let it be said here that Brad Treliving is now the favourite to replace him as Leafs GM because there are so few obvious options who meet Shanahan's requirement that "having an experienced general manager would be an attractive quality."

The others that fall into that category are Marc Bergevin, Peter Chiarelli, Chuck Fletcher, Ray Shero, Ron Hextall, Jim Benning and Dave Nonis.

Lolol leafs should hire Chiarelli and Benning combo just like the old Boston times

First order of business. Nylander to flames for Lucic.
