In 3 years is marleau going to be able to contribute 6 million worth of value ? Benoit pouliot can contribute 1.5 mil of value , not 4. If in 2 years marleau can only contribute 2.5 mil value then yes it's the exact same thing.

Moving a large contract even for 1 year of a player not able to provide near the value he's getting paid is not eze.

Look at the drop off of iginla from 38 and putting up 20g 47p to this year.

You have no clue about the Leafs actual cap situation if you think that contract is going to hurt us...
Not to mention, removing signing bonuses and stuff, Marleau is owed 1 million dollars in year 3.... it's the easiest move ever.

well, the leafs are currently above the salary cap, they're going to need to start with someone on marlies or trade

Alot of that can get waivered, but im thinking Komorov might be the odd man out. Unless we can actually get value for JVR id prefer to keep him.
