So, I voted NDP. I like having NDP seats in our government.

I didnt vote unfortunately... I tried to get to the polling station but didnt have time. Regardless the NDP won by a landslide in my riding.

I dont think the NDP getting in is a bad thing. I think they have some good ideas and like all elections, lots of the stuff they promise wont happen. But that being said I think it's a huge wake-up call for the PCs and it should cause a big party reform. This will be the first time in Alberta since I've been alive that we will truly have multiple parties and I'm hoping it leads to better use age of taxpayer dollars. This province has a lot of money and the government has definitely taken that for granted. There is absolutely no reason Alberta should have been in a deficit from 2010-2014 but due to poor management of funds, we were.

Long story short, it was time for a change.

Voted NDP! Advanced polls of course so I could watch some Johnny hockey.

Huge night for Alberta. The system works, it wasn't won by octogenarians scared of change. Was won by Millenials. If you run the province so poorly you deserve to be fired, and the pcs sure got the asskicking they deserved.

Nothing to be worried about, I'm happy to pay more tax for an increase in social services, and the fact that corporate tax is going up is way overdue.

We won our first beer league game 7-1 last night, then got off the ice went for wings and watched my Flames win. Couldnt be grumpy today if I tried

I have an appointment at the college today with a "career counsellor" I could be enrolled in school by the end of the day and after the win last night. Just the best. Its fucking beautiful outside too. Couldn't be better.

Not gonna lie, there is a lot of fear mongering over the NDP getting in. I work in the O&G sector and many of the people are panicking.

That being said I think it was time for a change and unfortunately the only party with any real platform was the NDP. The Wildrose seemed like a huge joke who's platform essentially consisted of "We Wont Raise Taxes" and the PCs have been corrupt as fuark. What we need is the PCs to go back to the drawing board and figure out what made them successful when King Klein was in power. Bring that back to Alberta because thats the "conservatism" that Albertans want.

Everything that the NDP claims they are going to bring in isnt even that radical. So even IF they make a mess of things, it can all be fixed at the next election. I think Alberta was due for a tax hike for higher tax brackets and corporations, as well as someone new to oversee the books and get us back on track. The heritage fund needs to be re-stocked and we need to reign in spending.

Its rumored that the devil is right wing.
