Update on Manny:

He underwent another successful surgery in NYC today.
The surgeon, Dr. Stanley Chang, that performed today is the same one who did Bryan Berard's when his retina was damaged/split.

Berard underwent 7 further surgeries before resuming his playing career, to put this in perspective.
