Played good enough to win but yet again we can't finish any chances. Daniel's giant fail epitomizes the issue.

Vrbata had some jump tonight but still couldn't capitalize.

Kid line was okay. Not much outside the goal shift and Baertschi's breakaway that was created by Virtanen's hit. Horvat fucked up on the PK after Sbisa got dangled which led to the goal.

e/ on second look, Virtanen only played 9 minutes and Bae 10, so I guess they had a decent outing considering how little ice they saw.

For some reason they're rushing and forcing plays instead of just cycling and being patient waiting an opening like they usually would.

They have to make sure they like never lose the puck 'cause they are two of the slowest forwards in the league, so they're not gonna get back fast enough to prevent a chance against.

IMO McCann is ready. He's kind of where Horvat was early in the season last year. I think after he gains some more experience he won't look out of place.

The only question is can his body hold up? He's already "banged up", the NHL season is grueling compared to what they do in junior. Horvat could handle it 'cause he's built like an ox but McCann seems to still have a teenager's body.

Shinkaruk scored a hatrick yesterday in the AHL. That was game 3, he had nothing in the first 2 games.

Need him to be PPG, or close to it, in the AHL this year if he's going to be tracking well.
