A 2nd for Boyle seems steep. I know the Leafs are weak on faceoffs, but a 2nd for a 4th liner just doesn't make sense. Would have liked to see them spend that 2nd on Brenden Smith out of detroit. Really any decent D-man would have been a better pick up.

Boyle is one the best bottom 6 guys there is. What his experience and presense in the lockroom will do for those young kids will be more then worth it

He'll help the team, without a doubt. But trading a 2nd for a 32 year old 4th liner and possibly only a rental doesn't make sense for the leafs. Using that 2nd to land a rental D man would have a much bigger impact on the leafs making the playoffs. Arguably, they should use the 2nd to get snag a longterm D option before the vegas draft in the offseason. Because more than likely the leafs are getting swept in the 1st round by either pitt or wash anyway
