ROR is being shopped hard for a defenseman. Can't say I'm surprised since his contract was signed to get him to UFA status. He's probably planning to walk if he isn't traded.

Florida and winnipeg were named although all of Winnipegs defense is injured..

I'd take ROR. I think he should have gotten out of COL honestly, interesting to see he might be traded.

ROR wants to make bank though and that might not mesh with Melnyk. I said right when his current contract was signed that he would be traded before it's done. He has one more year though (I think) after this one so maybe he'll prove he is worth the price he's asking.

I think he'd fit in great in Florida. Their young guys are great but they hemorrhage shots. A proven defensive minded forward is exactly what they need to keep up what they've been doing and potentially become relevant in the playoff picture, even if only for the first round. Plus the new owners seem willing to open their checkbooks.

wat?

every single florida center is a two-way center, barkov is elite defensively, bjugstad is considered a two-way forward, mackenzie and bolland are pest-ish two-way forwards

florida has one of the best defenses in the team, and forwards are a large part of it, even if we got some notorious floaters

we would need ROR for his offense, but not his defense

@oilers

RNH isnt good defensively, he's mediocre. he has been improving though.

Florida is green and a lot of players make bad decisions on a nightly basis. Having ROR to help them develop means even if he leaves Florida after his contract he'll have made lasting impact beyond just what he himself does on the ice.

/e also ROR has been playing wing.

they have enough veternas to take care of that... ror is part of a losing culture, so not very interested

He wants out because he's sick of losing. Doesn't change the fact that florida has a shots against per game worse than or close to such amazing defensive teams as toronto, buffalo, and columbus. They could use a guy who knows his shit defensively so the shots don't even get off in the first place.

Can't think of many (or any) teams that are in a position to trade away a top-4 defensively responsible D-man for ROR.

Will be interesting.

Yeah and to only have him for 1.5 years(guaranteed), would have to give a player in a similar contract situation or risk it...

Wouldn't give up a decent prospect unless going hard for the cup
