Does he play on the PK?

Nugent-Hopkins leads all Oilers forwards in power play time, which is not a surprise, but this season he has also been consistently killing penalties.

He has been regularly paired with Benoit Pouliot as the Oilers second PK pairing.

Yeah well Oilers better get a lot for Hall if they do trade him. I agree wouldn't want him here if he is a locker room problem

?? Most other 1C in the West are more complete than him. Plekanec is more complete than him. RNH has a MUCH higher offensive side that isn't even comparable but don't tell me he is a complete player.

RNH isn't being compared to other 1Cs. He's being compared to "I'm Taylor hall, who wants to fuck me tonight!" It's not as expected of Hall to backcheck as it is of RNH but he's shown OV levels of defensive IQ.

How many players not named Crosby or Malkin could get thrown onto a top line with two guys in their early 20s and make any sort of impact? Nuge has held his own. No he's not gonna be as good as guys with 10 years experience in the league but he seems to be one of the more mature players on the team despite his strange taste in clothing. If you're picking a young, responsible center who has growing to do vs a flashy winger who will make you bank, 9 times out of 10 you trade hall.

In any case MacT would be better off trading guys at a value loss who werent picked first round. The team is on its heels, bring in some guys who can change the culture for the better. If they walk after the season then boo hoo. Set the groundwork and tone instead of throwing green first rounders at the problem areas when they can't help.

Second unit PK, 3rd among Oilers forwards in SH TOI per game behind two grinders who play on the 1st.

Oilers need some legitimate leaders in that dressing room, some competent defense on the ice, and a goalie who doesn't look like a blind retarded kid in nets.

A lot of that can be picked up without shipping out a superstar. I'm interested to see if the Oilers actually make a move

I wouldn't trade RNH either if I was the Oilers, but Hall wouldn't be at the top of that list either unless massive overpay

Ship Petry
Ship Ference
Scratch Justin Schultz
Purcell's gotta be worth something
Demote Draisaitl
Perron
Gordon (?)
Maybe Hendricks

Try to snag guys like Jan Hejda, Andrej Sekera, get Horcoff back, Brenden Morrow, Michalek. Guys who are already on non-contenders who you can rent for a year for some experience and to instill a more adult culture in the locker room even if they're not gonna be huge contributors. Make a play at Hodgson, Tanguay, Quincey (PLEEEEEASE).
I know they've got MacT over a fire pit right now but come on man. You have assets to trade without giving up one of the first round draft picks. It's a fire sale, we'll give you slightly used potential playoff assets and you give us maturity.

Obviously it's not as easy as just dropping people and getting other people  but you get the general theme. Those are the kinds of guys they need, even if they're not gonna be producers.

Over the past 10 games:

He took a solid 3 more shifts per game than hall for an extra 2 minutes on ice. Only person beating him is Justin Schultz in TOI.

ROR is being shopped hard for a defenseman. Can't say I'm surprised since his contract was signed to get him to UFA status. He's probably planning to walk if he isn't traded.

Florida and winnipeg were named although all of Winnipegs defense is injured..
