Ward could be a good UFA target for the Pens. Might look pretty good beside Crosby or Malkin.

Although he'll probably get overpaid by a team with a crap-load of cap.

4.5/yr for 3-4 years for both him and Williams.

Pens depth isn't in that bad of shape next year if some prospects come up but they're fucked in 16-17. Likely gonna get priced out of Sutter and Perron. Maatta will probs only need a bridge but that's a raise. They're gonna once again have 12m to fill 10 spots next year plus keep prospects and similar in 16-17 when the raises are due.

:lol: Pens just have too many contracts in the vicinity of $4m in supporting staff. If you're keeping crosby, Malkin, and letang, you just can't have 24m tied up in the rest of your top 6 and 3C. Hawks are gonna be in the same situation.

The only way I see that setup working is if you have home grown elc guys filling out most of the bottom 6 and at least 2 of the bottom 4. And I just don't see the talent in their prospect pool.
