these are my thoughts on a few of our key players throughout these playoffs.
im gonna leave out a few guys who are just filler guys anyway.
plekanec - fell very short. as one of the guys we rely on for veteran leadership/speed, he was lacking a lot of that these playoffs. had a few nice bounce back plays in the TB series after they scroed but other than that, he was a big let down.
patches - i was in awe at how this guy disappeared for so long. seems to me like he cant handle playoff hockey. hes too streaky of a player to rely on to go far in the playoffs. lacked passion and work ethic this playoffs.
gionta - seemed to lack determination throughout the whole playoffs. really disapointed in how hes one of our few stanley cup winners and he wasnt able to be productive at all.
deharnais - played the best out of our top 6 forwards (possilby outplayed by gallagher). i liked his backcheck and his sustained pressure when in the zone. he fed the puck to the point a lot which seemed to be the only way to get goals these playoffs.
glachenyuk - seemed to be the only guy to get the puck in the offensive zone without dumping it in. this guy has the puck handling, skating, control of the puck of an elite nhl forward and he showed it in the little time he played. GET THIS GUY SOME GOOD WINGERS FUCK.
vanek - who the fuck cares. no passion = gtfo scrub. the guy lost puck battles against 4th liners every game.
gorges - got outplayed by weaver. was a let down honestly. saw him losing footing/being slow which gave up odd man rushes. has absolutely no play making ability. granted his shot blocking was second to probably only weaver. and he worked hard, just he was not the player i expecting him to be 2 weeks away from the stanley cup.
subban - how can you not love the guy? his break away goal against boston was probably the most exciting play ive witnessed as a habs fan. this guy really proved me and a lot of people wrong these playoffs. i still think he has a few years before he will be the best but he def has the potential. sign this guy long term. i liked a lot of his decision making these playoffs and his controlled emotions was a big improvement.
beaulieu - had a great playoffs overall imo. had a horrible game 6 though... but who didnt? his skating is awesome, he just needs to learn the decision making better. he reminds me of markov, great shot, great form. plays bigger than he is. he will be grat for us in a few years.
emelin - let me down a lot these playoffs. gave up the move odd man rushes. very slow. i can remember almost all his body checks, which u expect more from this guy.
price - proved that he can handle the big stage. this guy was one of the best goalies and will be for the rest of his life. his consistency and ability to steal series truely proved his elite ability. well make the playoffs every year as long and he is healthy.
ticker - what a gamer. this guy has a lot to learn but he played great when we needed him. still has a lot to prove though.
thats all for now im writting a few more of these later
